Tandoor indian restaurant durham nc

opinion

Everyone has different taste when it comes to Indian food. I happen to really like Tandoor Indian Restaurant! The service was excellent. There was not one time my glass was empty. This means a lot to me especially when I am eating Indian food. The food came out with perfect timing. We got our tasty appetizers meat somosas about minutes after we ordered them and not long before our main dishes came out.

I ordered the chicken mango wala and it was really good.

It had the right combinations of spices that made the heat seem not so hot. That is the trick with really good Indian food. If it is balanced properly, the spices will be balanced with heat. My Girlfriend got the chicken korma and it was very good as well. It was rich, but not too rich.

The naan was hot, buttered and tasty. The rice Tandoor indian restaurant durham nc extra fluffy and had the right amount of taste. It was the perfect texture for holding my mango goodness. I rated this restaurant excellent because it was the perfect combination of service, food and price.

Restaurant Extra's

Just like the food, it was perfectly balanced. Both my date and I were disappointed with the quality of the food.

In comparison to Mint right down the street and Dales in Durham the food at Tandoor was not comparable. Tandoor might be a cheaper option, but you definitely lose some quality.

It claims to be authentic Indian cuisine, but the only restaurant that's true for is Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe a mile down the road on West Franklin St. This restaurant is in the basement of a building next to The Biscuit Kitchen. An Indian friend of ours complains that she gets "attitude" here because she's overweight. We have found that the service is polite if a bit stiff and the atmosphere dark It has a bar but we've never seen anyone sitting there except an employee.

Unless you specifically order a vegetarian Tandoor indian restaurant durham nc, you won't find a vegetable on your plate. You pay extra for condiments.

Most of their business seems to come from carryout. We eat here about once a month, at the lunchtime buffet. A good bargain, and a great selection of Indian food. The selection includes both vegetarian and chicken dishes, and we never leave hungry.

The basmati rice always amazes me with its fluffiness and delicate flavor, in contrast with the gummy mess I end up with when "Tandoor indian restaurant durham nc" try to fix this at home!
